Tea in the Treetops: A Magical Rainforest Celebration
Last week, our preschool was transformed into a lush, tropical paradise as we welcomed our mothers to this year’s much-anticipated Tea in the Treetops Mother’s Tea Party. The children, who had spent months exploring the many rainforests of the world, were overjoyed to finally share their learning, creativity, and hard work with the most special guests of all—their moms!
The excitement began even before the event, as the children eagerly helped set the tables, carefully arranging them to reflect the beauty of the rainforests they had studied. Each class prepared a unique presentation filled with songs, poems, and facts about their rainforest, bringing to life the incredible animals, plants, and landscapes they had explored. Whether it was the towering trees of the Amazon or the fascinating creatures of the Daintree, the children’s performances were filled with enthusiasm and pride.
“I wait all year for this special event. It never fails to amaze me how much effort and time all the children and Morah’s put in towards creating this incredible immersive learning experience.”
After the performances, moms and children enjoyed a delicious rainforest-inspired spread, featuring coconut cakes, tropical fruits, and a warm bowl of jungle green soup.
The adventure continued as the children led their moms through a series of rainforest-themed activity stations. At Crocodile Crossing, they balanced their way across stepping stones, just like creatures navigating the rainforest waters. At the DIY Rainforest station, creativity bloomed as families built their own mini jungle scenes. And at Rainforest Crown Making, children adorned themselves with nature-inspired crowns, feeling like true explorers of the wild.
A huge thank you to our dedicated teachers for their tireless work in bringing this vision to life, and especially to Morah Jae for chairing this unforgettable event. Your efforts made Tea in the Treetops a truly magical experience for our children and their mothers.
