Spring Time

Dearest CMCH Family,

As we welcome the refreshing breezes and blooming flowers of spring, our classrooms have been buzzing with vibrant activities and joyful learning!

In the Chickadees class, our little ones have been marveling at our classroom pet caterpillars. We began the week by crafting colorful caterpillars from pipe cleaners, beads, and googly eyes. Next, we made felt chrysalises, which we attached to a twig on our classroom tree, eagerly anticipating the transformation into butterflies. With spring in the air, we classified animals based on how they move—in the water, on land, or in the sky. To cap it off, we decorated butterfly rings and brought them to life as we fluttered around the room. Our week culminated in a delightful Shabbat party, thanks to Shabbat Abba Yisroel for bringing treats to share.

The Caterpillars class had a fun-filled week focusing on dental health. The children were intrigued to learn about the transition from baby teeth to adult teeth. They explored good dental hygiene practices like brushing, flossing, and eating healthy foods. We created collages of foods that make teeth happy and sad and conducted an egg experiment to show how brushing can remove stains. The kids even made their own tooth models! For Parsha, they learned about the Torah laws and Hashem’s actions after the Jewish people accepted the Torah.

In the Ladybugs class, preparations for the Mother's Tea Party were in full swing. We embraced springtime creativity by recreating Matisse's vibrant paper cutout, "The Snail." Henna Maya initially doubted it looked like a snail, but Benny explained how the shapes curled like a snail's shell. We ended the lesson with thoughtful questions the children would ask Henri Matisse, sparking curiosity and imagination.

Shabbat Shalom!

Your Morahs
